ABSTRACT
Pre Menstrual Syndrome (PMS) is a common health problem most commonly reported by women of reproductive age in Indonesia. In Indonesia, the incidence of PMS by 64.25% and 9.36% have symptoms of severe PMS as much pain on the waist area, nausea, vomiting, loss of concentration, depression and other symptoms, PMS that can not be tolerated by the body and therefore can not perform routine as usual. According to research in East Java on the characteristics of women of reproductive age correlation with the incidence of MPSs, of the 180 women studied contained 87 (40%) women with PMS. The purpose of this study was to determine the correlation between gynoid obesity toward PMS. This study is an observational study was 110 students of SMK Dr. Soetomo by using simple random sampling. The statistical test used is the chi-square test with significance level α <0.05. The results showed that of the 51 students of SMK Dr. Soetomo who have gynoid obesity almost entirely of 50 people (98%) experienced PMS. The results of statistical tests chi-square test p = 0.000 (<0.005). The results of the statistical test Chi-square test p = 0.000 (<0.005). The conclusions of the study is that students of SMK Dr. Soetomo who have gynoid obesity that have a correlation toward of PMS.
