ABSTRACT

Food is known as lane spread of pathogens and toxins produced by pathogenic microbes. Improper food management or food contaminated by the bacteria can cause food poisoning and often cause of Outbreak. This investigation was a case-control study. Sampling technique used in this investigation was total sampling. The data used was primary and secondary data which will be with analiasis descriptive. Outbreaks of food poisoning occurred in the village of the District Tegalsari Tempursari Lumajang on 25 April 20015 on the celebration of 40 birth- newborn. The number of invitations was 28 households. The food served was sweet tea while the food take-away is rice, chicken, noodles, fried sauce, lodeh, urapan, egg, botokan and iwel-iwel. Around begin at 17:30 on the same day, some people started going to the nearest health facility with symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache and heartburn. Based on the
results of a report from the Health Office of Lumajang District well as results of tracking cases until 26 April 2014 total cases recorded were 64 people, mostly experienced by women (AR = 70.21%). If viewed by age group, outbreak of food poisoning in Lumajang attacked mostly children of school age 6-11 years (AR =100%). Based on result of
laboratory food tests, source of food poisoning was a vegetable (tempe and peanut) with a value of AR= 9.05. The cause of outbreaks of food poisoning was the presence of E.Coli.
