Toward the middle of 2017, the Faculty of Public Health Airlangga University happily welcomed the new professor title earned by Prof. Dr. Ririh Yudhastuti, drh., M.Sc. The professor’s title was achieved in the field of Environmental Health. Besides actively teaching at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels, she actively conducts research, performs community service, writes books, and speaks at various health seminars.
Bu Ririh, as her friends and colleagues greet her, is also actively involved as a member of the assessor team of National Accreditation Board of Higher Education (BAN PT). She once served as Chair of the Master Program of Environmental Health in the Faculty of Public Health UNAIR. To achieve the professor title, in the midst of her busy life, she took time to write textbooks, carry out research and public service, published scientific papers. Not in a short time that she earned the title, it took struggle and courage to keep pursuing the dream.
“The long struggle for a professorship was not easy, but it is not impossible if we really strive to. If we pursue with an all-out effort, and pray, all obstacles will be overcome “said Prof. Ririh emphatically.
Currently Prof. Ririh is preparing the professor’s inaugural speech. The theme of the speech is One Health, which covers unity between animal health, environmental health, and human health. In the near future, she will also publish her book about the animals-sourced tropical disease. Currently the book is in the process of lay-out design by Airlangga University Press.
